Latest version MinGW

Post by SillieWous » 2020/11/26 19:18:52

I want to use one of my CentOS servers for cross-platform building Qt projects. For this I need MinGW but unfortunately the latest version in the CentOS/RHEL repos seems to be from 2018 https://centos.pkgs.org/8/centos-powert ... 4.rpm.html.

Am I missing something or is there no later version available? Has anyone successfully used the Fedora version?

Please see https://access.redhat.com/security/updates/backporting/ for information on backporting of security fixes and features in CentOS and RHEL. Additionally https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2074 may also be of use.

I think I get what you are saying. However I was specifically referring to the latest change according to the changelog, which seems to be 2018-08-08. Since then the Fedora package has had multiple changes.

I am aware that Fedora has a different update strategy. That is why I am asking if someone has used this particular package from Fedora successfully. The latest version of the RHEL repos is not working for me, so might as well see if a newer Fedora version does is my thinking.
