Google no longer support chrome on el6.

You can get a community provided version of chromium instead using the yum repo from http://people.centos.org/hughesjr/chromium/6/chromium-el6.repo

Google Chrome 29 can still be used under CentOS but you have to provide some libraries in /opt/google/chrome/lib.

The easiest way to get chrome work is to install it using a script provided by Richard K. Lloyd

http://chrome.richardlloyd.org.uk/

Once installed chrome updates without further special treatment, I started with 28 and Update to 29 worked fine...
