Unicast and Multicast issues

Post by ugurcil » 2015/06/14 22:17:02

Hi all,

I have a simple client/server implementation (implemented in C). If I try to run the server on my CentOS 7 and the client on a different machine, I cannot receive data on my the server implementation. But when I check the packet by using tcpdump I can see them. This case is same for both unicast and multicast implementations.

So far, I have read that the problem causes from reverse path filtering and the solution is to disable rp_filtering but this did not work for me.
BTW, implementations work successfully in different environments.
If you have any suggestion, please let me know..

Thanks in advance..

I have found the solution.. It is easy but I am naive so that it took times

firewall-cmd --add-port=12345/udp to enable a port and protocol combination.
