CentOS 4.8

I have an IBM server with ibm serveraid, 2 drives in a mirror.
The server was running with no problems and last updated to CenOS 4.8.
It hosts a vmware server.
This morning it was turned off by mistake, unplugged while running.
Now it goes to the grub menu and stops.
You can select the OS and it boots.
I support this server remotely form over 100 miles away. If it reboots I can not proceed without someone there.
How can I fix the problem?
