[RESOLVED] No more mirrors to try

Post by PhDJ » 2011/12/09 09:15:33

I am trying to do a : yum update of my CentOS 5.7 server.

It says I have 64 packages to update, after I answer yes to have them updated I get a lot of messages and in the end it says "No more mirrors to try"

Can I add mirrors somewhere ?

The short answer to your question is no.

The usual technique to resolve that sort of (relatively infrequent) occurrence is to wait a while and then --
yum clean all
yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=base,extras,updates update
If, after attempting the above, you still have problems please post the output produced by executing ./getinfo.sh package, as detailed in How To Provide Information About Your System.

If you're behind a firewall that is also caching/proxying content from the Internet, adding the line http_caching=packages to the [main] section of /etc/yum.conf will help prevent problems like this from reoccurring in the future.
