DRDY ERR

My server was working perfectly.

When I came today , and switched on , I see below Error :

ata1.00status:{DRDY ERR}
ata1.00:error:{UNC}

I can ping the server but cant use Putty or winscp.

HDD crashed ?

I also see : sda write protect is off

Can it be the Cable Problem ?

We were dialing & suddenly there was a power failure after tht only we r facing this

From what I googled, it seems it is not unusual to have these data transmission errors occasionally on SATA drives. They should be infrequent though.

What happens when you try to use putty / ssh?

Can you log in at the console? (locally)

If you can, do that and look at dmesg output and the logs for more details.

Not showing any Local Console. Stucked with Error.

Putty : Shows me the root prompt and also allows me to enter Password but after I enter Password, nothing happens.

Is this a vps, where you do not have physical access to the machine? Have you asked for help from the hosting company?

Its NOT on static IP.

I am sitting Remotely.

I access the Putty , from Team Viewer.

In other Words, network is working.

I have no idea what Team Viewer is. Can you reboot the VPS or have the hosting company do it?

If you are having a hardware failure issue it is likely to be affecting other VPS customers on that server.

Team Viewer is a Remote Desktop sharing Software.

I tried rebooting the server 5 times but all the same.
