Gnome reverts to 800 x 600 when switching sessions

Currently working on CentOS8 on a VirtualHub instance (which resides on my Win 10 system), and I'm noticing that whenever I switch sessions, or reboot the system, the screen resolution drops from 1900 x 1240, to 800 x 600. I figure that there is a place in /etc to set the default - but I am where to do that.
Could someone point me to the correct file to configure the default?
