How to install ATi drivers
Re: How to install ATi drivers
An ATI card yet it's loading the nouveau driver?! Nouveau is for nVidia cards.
Maybe try heading to ELrepo and installing kmod-fgrlx which is far more likely to work being an ATI driver for an ATI card :-) If nouveau is loading all on its lonesome without being told to do so, you might need to blacklist it.

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.
ELRepo has the latest ATI drivers in kmod-fglrx.
If more help is needed then please provide more information about your system by running "./getinfo.sh" and showing us the output file.

Yes, that does kind of look suspiciously like an nvidia card, not an ATI :-D

It looks suspiciously like it is an nVidia card, the onboard variety.
Detected an NV40 generation card (0x04c000a2)
I think it's one of those nVidia Quadro chipsets, used by Dell (a.o.).
Maybe it can be disabled in the BIOS, or a 'first-VGA' preference set?
