Where do you get a Live Centos ISO? Problems booting Linux.

Hi where can get CentOS live ISO? I tried booting into Debian, but I could not boot on both a MAC and PC. Might have the same issues. Secure boot disabled.

CentOS-8 live media are being worked on. However there is no ETA.

OK. I see that there is a boot ISO for CentOS Stream. Would that be what I'm looking for? I would love to be able to boot from a flash drive before actually upgrading my machine from CentOS 7 to 8.

The boot.iso is the old netinstall one so you have to point it to an online yum repo to fetch the packages.

And there is NO upgrade path from one major version of CentOS to another. You cannot "update" from 7 to 8 or from 6 either. It's a backup your data, reinstall, restore thing.

Yes, by update I meant backup, reinstall, restore. It's a big step and I'd love to be able to test run 8 without doing that first. I can install on another machine and look at it that way, but it's harder than being able to boot from a flash drive as we've been able to do in the past. I understand that resources are limited, so no worries. The earlier reply made it look like it might happen. Thanks for your time.

The problem with installing 8 on any machine is that there may be drivers which are missing and you only find out when part way through it tells you it cannot find a disk or it cannot configure a network.

there are some perl scripts that can help you detect that. The scripts should run on any live distro that has perl and lspci.

map_hardware_to_drivers.pl shows drivers in use by the running system. Check the CentOS 8 release notes to see which, if any are no longer supported.

find_centos8_needs_elrepo.pl lists drivers which are in ElRepo (and so are probably not in CentOS 8). If a driver is not in 8 and also not in El Repo it will NOT be listed, and it will be a problem when CentOS 8 is installed. Some drivers in ElRepo are in CentOS 8, like tg3. So not everything listed will be a problem.

CentOS Plus has a different set of drivers but I do not know a way to list them. Getting to CentOS Plus if there is a driver not in the base CentOS or in ElRepo will be difficult, as there is no direct CentOS Plus installer.

It would be nice of CentOS did something similar early in the install process and emitted something like:
