I think what’s happening is grub does not recognize new kernel or does not boot into new kernel

I am far from an expert and having lots of trouble finding a solution for this.

I also have access to KVH when the servers would nto load after a yum update and then reboot. KVH gives me Grub access and I can also reboot into recovbery and get root access via ssh.

What's the output from grep ^process /proc/cpuinfo (just one line will do, they'll all be the same).
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

No, that's a separate issue but also one which needs to be cleared up.

Please note that I restored from a backup to older kernel, its just when I try to update to the latest and then do a reboot as per the security advisor, it wont load, wont ssh, wont ping, nothing.

I removed that as I seen it was cleared up after those lines.

I could try Kernelcare which will update and I dont have to restart my server afterwards, but at times the advsiopr ask em to reboot because of processes running or soemthing like that and I normally do what the advisor ask me to do to keep server safe and updated and secure.

This is an example which is now showing on advisor:

The system’s core libraries or services have been updated.
Reboot the server to ensure the system benefits from these updates.

So its hard becacsue I need te be able to restart server without these issues.

Answer the question about the cpu model as I think I know what caused this.
