Why Do We Use CentOS For Big Data Hadoop?

Hi, i am being learning about big data and really curious to know why CentOS is being used for Big Data Hadoop. I have been taking big data training in Bangalore and while my training question raised in my mind so, please enlighten me on this topic it will be very helpful.
