Centos 8 - kickstart file

Post by tomkov » 2020/05/21 20:22:39

Hello,

I am trying to customize ISO of CentOS 8, so all the essential packages that I need are included during OS installation. All that is specified in the kickstart file. However, after building the ISO with mkisofs and attempting the installation, the boot process stops with an error:

dracut-initqueue[<PID>]: /usr/sbin/fetch-kickstart-disk: line 24: rmdir: command not found.

After couple of days of googling, I have not found any solution for this.

Any idea what could be causing this error?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Tomas

We don't recommend that anyone rebuilds the iso images. You'd be better off finding a different method. Most of us boot the netinstall iso image and point it to a network hosted repo and kickstart file.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
