question about server

Hello, I am trying to configure a video game server. Problem is i cannot install mysql on it cause it is seems it installed everything on the root which maxxed out the partition. Please tell me how to fix it?

I have often moved content, like database, to a different filesystem and then used bind-mount to make the new location show in original path.


PS. Isn't MariaDB a default replacement for mysql?
