OpenLDAP -- where is slappasswd?

Post by iwishitwouldwork » 2020/03/24 13:37:16

CentOS 8

I have all the openldap*.x86_64 packages installed

Code: Select all

rpm -qa | grep openldap
openldap-2.4.46-11.el8_1.x86_64
openldap-devel-2.4.46-11.el8_1.x86_64
openldap-clients-2.4.46-11.el8_1.x86_64
But slappasswd is not on the machine. All the tutorials act like it should
be here.

(1) is there a way to have yum tell me what pkg a given file will be in?
I'd love to know that.
(2) where is slappasswd?

thx.

1. yum provides */slappasswd

2. CentOS 7 has slappasswd in package openldap-servers.

Red Hat has deprecated openldap server. https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/preparin ... se-linux-8
