You'll need to give a lot more details about what you downloaded. How did you try to boot it? If it was from a USB stick then did you read our wiki article about how to create one (see my sig below)? What happened? Give exact descriptions of all the errors that you saw or what happened when you tried.
No point in trying CentOS 6 as that dies by the end of this year.
Thank you very very much for your replay!!!
I tried with CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1908.iso, boot from a USB stick and first of all, had a problem with picking disk on which CentOS may be installed.
Every try I had info there is no free space on the disk (this disk was totally empty, 500GB). There was a problem with saving boot loader on the disk too.
How should I format the hdd disk? GPT or MBR? Should I partition disk myself or installer will do it for me?
Once when something happened and installation allows me to went further appear announcement info that there is missing mactel-boot, I found it and downloaded but don't know how to add to the installation.
So, in theoretical, I finished an installation but my mac won’t start itself with CentOS system.
I tried with version 8 of CentOS but in fact, had exactly the same problems and final.
If it will be helpful to understand what is happening and what I’m doing wrong I could try one more time to make installation and take picture from my screen.
All the best
