I'm getting the error message in the subject line when trying to update a CentOS 7.4 server to CentOS 7.7.
The servers are vmware. The virtual scsi adaptor is LSI logic, not BusLogic.
When I run "yum update" it installs about 225 packages. and when yum goes to "Cleanup", I start getting broadcast messages from systemd-journal that state the above, and yum update appears to be hung.
I was leery about doing a ctrl-C and canceling out, fearing that might leave the OS in an unstable state with about 200+ "Cleanup" items left to do. I've left it running for an hour and a half already, but it doesn't appear to be progressing.
Suggestions?
TIA

Re: dracut[10797]: Failed to install module BusLogic
Hmm, it might have been a vmware issue, not CentOS directly. I reverted back to a previous snapshot, uninstalled open-vm-tools, and yum update had no issue running a 2nd time.
Re: dracut[10797]: Failed to install module BusLogic
Motto: when in doubt, blame vmware...
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
