Tape drive and LSI 9200 8e

Post by Rocketrrt » 2020/02/11 19:14:09

Hi All,

I am trying to add a tape drive to the centos 7.7 server I have. I have LSI logic SAS9200_8e pci scsi card and hp lto-7 ultrium tape drive.
It does seem to recognize it.

[root@kvm6 rtidwell]# lsscsi
[0:2:0:0] disk DELL PERC H700 2.10 /dev/sda
[2:0:0:0] cd/dvd TEAC DVD-ROM DV-28SW R.2A /dev/sr0

it seem to only internal Perc H700 (sda) and DVD drive not the tape. I am new at this, never played with tape drive, We do I go from here to get it recognized.

I see this also:

Not sure if that helps. The BIOS does recognize it.

Any help getting this working would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ron

Is the mpt2sas module listed in the output from lsmod? If not, what happens if you modprobe it?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Read the output from dmesg and see what it says about messages issued by mpt2sas.

I don't see any mention of it finding any devices on the controller. Does its BIOS setup see them?
