what exactly this does this mean? I'm trying to execute a script but i keep getting this message

Sounds like a question for the people that run that git repo...
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Look at the script - at a guess it's looking into the .git directory.
