When I open the software manager there's just an empty windows with the categories. I've spotted a weird message sometime that says that there is no permission. I can see squares popping up, and disappearing again after selecting categories. But it's basically empty.. I can use yum install, but coming from Ubuntu and being used with apt, not having the software manager is just cumbersome at this point.. I managed to install gimp using yum, but what could be the reason that the software manager sees nothing?
Also in the list of software repositories that you find in the software manager, there are centos-8- and centos-stream-8 alternatives.. Enabling the Stream gives me error messages as well... Is it supposed to be like this right after install, or is it messed up big time?
I just wanted to try an rpm based distro, but this is making me confused..
It's my first time here, be gentle.. xD

Software manager contains nothing.
Re: Software manager contains nothing.
It seems that when i remove all the -stream- repositories, it gives me some programs in the software manager, but I still can't install any of them. When trying to install Inkscape i get this error message:
I have no clue what's going on...Unable to install Inkscape:
Cannot update read-only repo

Re: Software manager contains nothing.
No, that problem is that the centos-release-stream package is not installed at all on a Stream install so there are no Stream repos.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: Software manager contains nothing.
I am getting the same error.
When i want to install any program, getting
"Unable to install Inkspace:
Cannot update read-onşy repo"
Trying to solve this problem 5 hours.
Getting bored to search solution.
I suppose that i will return to use Ubuntu.
