Dependency failed for Activation socket for spice guest agent daemon.

Post by nupurpriya » 2019/09/09 09:02:40

Hi All,

Facing the issue reported at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1545212, during the installation. Now, the fix which is suggest here and the released errata, needs us to install the packages released at https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2019:2229.
But since the issue is seen during the installation, much before the packages are actually installed, this error will not be removed on installation.

Could anyone please help me understand, how this will work for installation error. Will the installation of the package followed by a reboot, will include the fix in initramfs??

Thanks and Regards,
Nupur

That update is part of 7.7 anyway.

If it's the error I think it is then it's just ignorable anyway.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

This is a warning message, but want to make it go away, Is there any way I can include the fix in initial ram disk

Update to 7.7 from the CR repo.

yum --enablerepo=cr update

You may also need to --enablerepo=epel-testing if you have any EPEL packages installed that are affected by 7.7 rebuilds.

Thanks, let me try and share the results.
I don't see CR for 7.7 available at mirror, where else I can look for it?

CR packages are in the previous version's directory, so see in 7.6.1810/cr. Or just use "yum" as instructed and let yum find a suitable mirror.

Hi All,

Even after updating the spice-vdagent package, with the fix, I am seeing the issue during installation. Any pointer on, from where these messages are getting printed.

Regards,
Nupur
