Configuration Postfix for Nagios

Post by IvanMohic » 2019/04/19 09:51:20

Hi,

I need to configure postfix to send email alert. In this server I have configured Nagios monitoring services, but not able to correctly configre Postfix.
Can some help giving a very basic information about postfix configuration? I googled a lot on this argument but not able to find out something easy to solve my issue.

Thanks,
IvanMohic

Our copy of postfix comes out of the box ready to send emails from localhost. There should be nothing that needs to be done to enable this.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Unfortunately I didn't download your copy. If I download yours, can I install it overwriting the version already running?

So how did you install it then? The correct way to install anything on CentOS is by using the yum install command.

Hi,

Chances are you might need to change some settings in /etc/postfix/main.cf

We changed
- myhostname = ourhousname
- mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain
- relayhost = (internal relayhost for outgoing mail that gives permission to mail form the nagios server)

sc6 Arie.
