Centos public mirror

Post by Vyacheslav » 2016/02/26 03:13:28

We did everything according to the instructions before it worked. Then we changed to the mirror IP, and now we can not run rsync. Error:

[root@mirror ~]# rsync -aqzH --delete msync.centos.org::CentOS /var/www/mirror.hoster.kz/data/www/mirror.hoster.kz/centos/
@ERROR: Unknown module 'CentOS'
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1503) [receiver=3.0.6]
[root@mirror ~]#
Please help me.

The CentOS msync nodes are ip restricted. You need to post to the centos-mirror mailing list to find out how to get yours changed if it exists already. If this is not a public mirror, open to everyone, then you may not rsync from the main CentOS msync mirrors, you must rsync with one of the existing public mirrors.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Mail again. No-one from the mirror network reads these forums. Perhaps ask on freenode IRC #centos-mirror too.

I haven't seen any such emails on the centos-mirror mailing list. Please note that you need to be subscribed to the mailing list before you can post, and you need to post from the same email address. Otherwise the messages sent to the list will be quietly rejected. When the message gets through, it will show up in the archives. I'm sorry, but you really should post the information to the mailing list.
