TCP Wrappers - Are These Still Used in Centos 7?

Post by skorm513 » 2015/11/25 05:55:14

How important are the hosts.allow and hosts.deny files in Centos 7? I once came across these files when checking out how to use NFS.

Are these files still used, or are these things deprecated?

The tcp_wrappers and tcp_wrappers-libs packages still exist in CentOS 7.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Probably depends on whether the services were linked to the libwarp library at compile time.
