libudev-dev for centos 5.11

Post by andersondj » 2015/05/11 13:16:22

I need a copy of module libudev-dev for a centos 5.11 environment. Does anyone know where I can download a copy from?

That's a Debian/Ubuntu package name and won't be the same for CentOS. Pick a file that the Debian package contains - say /usr/include/path/to/libudev.h as a made up example - then run yum provides '*/libudev.h' and yum will tell you the correct package to install (if it can find it at all).
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have run the "yum provide" command but it could not find any packages. Presumably it is only searching in the default Centos repositories. Could you suggest further suitable repositories that I could add to the repository search list.
