Missing httpd modules with CentOS 7?

Post by ChrisK1 » 2014/11/12 08:23:57

Hi there,
I'm currently trying to migrate an old mediawiki installation vom CentOS 6.x to 7.
The overall process went fine, but I ran into trouble when I tried to re-use the httpd configs on the new installation.
There seem to be a few modules missing in CentOS 7.
For example, the copied httpd.conf wants to load the module "mod_authn_alias". This seems to be missing with the standard httpd installation on CentOS 7.
Yum also doesn't give a hint here:

Code: Select all

[root@localhost ~]# yum whatprovides "*/mod_authn_alias.so"
Geladene Plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: mirror.skylink-datacenter.de
 * extras: mirror.skylink-datacenter.de
 * updates: mirror2.hs-esslingen.de
No matches found
Can somebody enlighten me on this issue?

TIA
Chris

I had to actually remove/re-install and edit the new files - copying in the old ones just gave me headache after headache.

For what it's worth ...

Since there's a major version change in httpd between el6 and el7 I am not surprised that you cannot just copy config files from one to the other.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
