No xserver at boot

Dear all,
I just installed centOS 7 on an old machine and at boot it gives me a prompt rather than a GUI.

Is there anything else I need to install for that? I need it to boot into graphical mode automatically.

Also, during the installation I couldn't find any way to make a live boot... Is that normal? Is it possible that this is somehow related to the problem above? Maybe being my machine quite old the GUI is not supported?

Did you install X and a window manager?
What happens if you run "systemctl isolate graphical.target" ?
show the output of 'lspci -nn".

I don't have the computer with me now so I cannot check… I simply went trough the regular installation… Is there a step where it asks you if you want to install X?

There's a button for what sort of installation you want to perform and you'd need to select one of the types like "Desktop" or "Server with GUI" to get a desktop and even then, on my system, I got a command line and had to use systemctl set-default graphical.target to boot into the GUI. Using Gerald's command is better because that lets you test it first then once you know it works you can use mine to make it default.

Any chance it's not working because my laptop is 32bit?

There is no 32 bit CentOS 7.

You can't. It won't let you.

There is a plan for the 32-bit CentOS 7. See this note i686 effort is kicking off. It will probably come out eventually, but no ETA at the moment.
