how to get software installed or updated in centos 7

i have installed CENTOS 7 kde version but unlike the gnome version i cant find an app to update or add software.i need help set it up.

Just opening a root command prompt and using yum is the usual method.
CentOS 6 died in November 2020 - migrate to a new version!
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.
