folks
i'm trying to build a CentOS 4 server from the ISOs i downloaded but the machine won't boot from the CDs
the boot order etc is ok as i can boot from a windows CD i tried
is there an install file on the ISO image i can start rather than having to download CentOS 5?
apologies if this is a naive question but i'm new to this OS
thanks to anyone taking the time to read or reply
greatly appreciated

Re: Install problems with ISO
Before you burnt the ISO images to the CDs, did you verify the integrity of each one by checking either the md5sum or the sha1sum against the published values?
If the hashes do not match, your images are corrupt and should be re-downloaded.
If your downloaded ISO images were valid, please try to burn them at a slower speed.
You will find some tips here.

alan
many thanks for your reply
i've tested the md5 hash and they match so the download was ok
apologies if this is a stu[id question but i assume i'm right that when i download the winrar file i unzipped it to a folder and then copied the files to a cd
i've attached a screenshot of the contents of the cd
thanks again

Install problems with ISO
There is no winrar file, just ISO images.
Read the link Alan gave you.

many thanks
you where 100% correct, i copied the cd rather than burning an image
i've rectified this and the OS is now installed to run init level 3 however once the OS starts to load, the keyboard stops working
suspect i'll post another query on this
thanks to everyone who read my post and particularly alan and gerald who took the time to reply
greatly appreciated
