I am running CentOS 5.6 on a VPS.
Using yum can I remove the lvm2 package from my vps without causing issues with the filesystem for reads/writes? Is the actual disk managed by the host machine so it needs lvm not me?

We can't answer without considerable knowledge of your VPS.

It's a Virtuozzo VPS with the host running CentOS.
Is Logical Volume Management handled by the host completely in this style of VPS compared to a Xen Server kernel based VPS?
