Activity monitor spyware

Post by mkjoe » 2021/07/05 02:48:00

Someone installed Softactivity's Activity Monitor client on my centos 7 laptop. How do i remove it from Centos 7.

The program allows someone to watch in real time what i am doing and logs keystrokes which means all passwords etc are recorded. I saw the program on the person's laptop but how do i delete it from mine.

Also is there a program i can use to block this in future.

If this was installed on a work laptop by your IT dept then you need to ask them to remove it. If it just appeared out of nowhere then you probably need to look at your security and I'd suggest reinstalling the laptop as it's obviously not safe.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
