Sonicwall netextender drops internet connection

Post by Cyberika » 2021/01/04 18:03:31

Shortly after connecting via netextender to server from my Centos 8 machine the internet drops. The connection with server is ok and I can work remotely but nothing else has access to internet while netextender is connected to remote server.

Code: Select all

ping -f -l 1464 www.yahoo.com
also drops the internet and after canceling of ping I get this:

Code: Select all

--- new-fp-shed.wg1.b.yahoo.com ping statistics ---
34817 packets transmitted, 21377 received, 38.6018% packet loss, time 336ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 153.711/306.906/348.762/17.889 ms, pipe 1465, ipg/ewma 0.210/316.372 ms.
On the same machine I have installed Centos 7 and Windows 10. On Centos 7 I get the same internet drops. On Windows 10 it works fine with no internet drops.

Sounds like you have it set up incorrectly. Most likely you want to use something called split tunnelling so that only traffic intended for the subnets that are only reachable via your VPN goes via the VPN and everything else uses your own internet connection. That's not a CentOS problem, it's a VPN misconfiguration.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

The client actually does not have this configuration option. Anyway, thank you for replay.

Just tried to do the same in Boxes VM with Win10 and it worked.
