Hi,
I recently installed Centos 8 on an old acer aspire one laptop that has the Broadcom BCM4313 wifi adapter from hell. The default driver for this adapter that was installed with Centos 8 had a lot of problems. Problems like the network connection freezing, link speeds of 5 or 6 Mbps, etc.
So I decided to compile and load the kernel module by following the procedure outlined in this article https://github.com/antoineco/broadcom-wl
While that seems to help the link speed issue a little (now my link speeds are 40 Mbps or even 60 Mbps), which doesn't make sense because the "nmcli dev wifi list" shows a rate of 130 Mbps, so in essence my connection speed is still less than half of the available throughput.
Not sure if anyone else has the same issue and might be able to share their solutions, if any
I've attached the output of 'lshw' and 'lsmod' commands.

Re: Centos 8 Broadcom wifi adapter is too slow
No expert in wifi but did you consider picking up a cheap secondhand Intel wifi adapter from ebay and just replacing the PoS you have now? In terms of how much effort you put in to making the Broadcom work, if you value your time at any sort of $ rate, it's probably more economical just to get one that works without a fight!
Intel AC 7265 mini-pcie cards are currently selling for about £5.00, say $7 US.

The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
