iptables in Webmin

Post by nthomthom » 2019/12/20 20:48:40

If anyone has experience with webmin and firewall (iptables) could you point me in the right direction? I know that the iptables within the webmin interface are stored via file somewhere on the server - i dont quite remember exactly where but. I need to save the following iptables command:
iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.8.0.0/24 -o enp6s0 -j MASQUERADE
to allow web traffic through clients accessing via VPN. The command works great until I make a change via webmin. It's not really too much of an issue because I can always rerun the command anytime a change in iptables occurs within webmin but would like to avoid this. I suspect that because the command wasn't entered into the webmin interface file it gets overwritten anytime a set of new iptables rules get reconfigured. Does anyone know how I can configure this command using the either the webmin interface or is it possible to write this directly to the file that the webmin rules are written to, if so.. How would that look? I tried my hand at it but the syntax wasnt quite right.
