Centos 8 HP raid Smart Array P410i state check.

Post by maroshka » 2020/10/29 19:55:15

Guys,
Anybody know what tool I can use in Centos 8 for check state RAID Smart Array P410i.
In Centos 7 I was used cciss_vol_status tool and it's was in epel repo. And now epel for Centos 8 have no include this tool.
So, may be somebody have an a other way for check state disks in raid controllers like this one?
Thanks.

HP do various tools as rpms. Look for hpacucli or hpssacli utilities.

Yes, I know about this tools, it's tools for raid setup, but I need some tool only for check raid state.
And in case with hpacucli, I can't find rpm versions for Centos8/rhel8

Ok, I was find rpm with hpssacli for Centos 8:
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public ... 98fef81ddd
So, over hpssacli I can find the raid and disks status. It's not very simple like ciss_vol_status, and may be it's more biggest tool then I need, but, so with this tool I can find what I need.
Thanks.

That was rather intereesting since I run my servers off the same chip, P410i, and had been looking for a way to monitor or at least look at raid status...

I have them HPE DVD/USB disks with updates but not sure if I should bother with trying to install them... did you do any of that @maroshka ?

There are icinga/nagios plugins that use the HP supplied utilities to keep track of the hardware health.

HI @SecCon. In my case it's old HP blade G7 servers with Ovirt Hypervisors. So, I was setup HP updates to this servers year ago. HP tool upgrade only accessible drivers for you server. We have a near 50 HP servers and I don't remember some problems with update or after update.
