Intel MFSYS25V2 with Centos 8

Post by fbafkis » 2020/10/05 08:07:55

Hi everybody,

I have an Intel MFSYS25V2 server chassis. I'd like to install on it Centos 8. But there is a problem: the Centos 8 driver are not recognizing the SAS storage system. So when I have to choose the disk where to install Centos, I have no options. But with Centos 6.5 it works smoothly. So my question is: how can I modify Centos 8 install image to use the old Centos 6.5 drivers for storage?

Thank you for the support!

Check ELRepo to see if they have packed a version of the drivers for that controller in that machine. Red Hat deprecated a large number of old SAS/RAID controllers and ELRepo have produced kmod packages to add support back. Those can be used as driver update disks during the install.
