Hi. I'm trying to find out if the latest centos8 stable will work ok on my laptop.
Lenovo shows it compatible with rhel 7.
I tried other linux distros and had problems with the mouse cursor freezing after standby or closing the lid. It wouls only work again after a restart.
This laptop has a touchpad, ibm trackpoint button and a touch screen.
I did try a centos 7 live gnome cd and everything seemed to work ok.

I only found the full dvd iso to download. Didn't see any live version for 8.

There is no live version of CentOS 8. You can boot the install DVD in rescue mode and see if it does though.

Couldn't get the rescue to work, said I had no linux installed.
But I did try a fedora 32 live usb and when I tried suspend and resume the mouse cursor was frozen but touchscreen still worked.

Well I installed it and everything is ok so far except when I close the laptop lid and open it without suspending my mouse cursor is gone and won't come back without a restart.
Suspend and resume works ok with the laptop open. Better than anything else I tried so far.
