only 800x600 resolution

Post by kron » 2020/03/20 06:39:04

hello.

i just install centos 8 Core with basic graphics because the default installation
just stuck on a black screen. however my laptop have both intel graphics HD 530 and
nvidia GTX 960M both can support much higher resolutions than 800x600.
i just need to be able to res up so my screen wouldnt be so ugly. but im clueless about
what should be done.
thanks in advance.

On CentOS 7 we'd normally recommend installing the kmod-nvidia package from the ELRepo yum repository and setting up and using bumblebee. No idea what you do on 8 but ELRepo have kmod-nvidiaa and nvidia-detect packages for it in their el8 repo.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.
