Hi, I am upgrading a test PC from CentOS 7 to CentOS 8 using the DVD image.
I am getting a variety of errors. I followed the instructions to get rdosreport.txt off the machine and is attached.
It brings me to a dracut # prompt which has some basic shell options. I don't see the usual GUI screens setting up partitions, hostname etc during any of this process, it just seems to try and load the OS right onto the machine and fails.
Can anyone give me some pointers on what to look for in the attached file?
I did turn off virtualization support in the BIOS as I think I saw something a while back related to that.
Thank you very much in advance.

Re: Potential hardware conflict
I must be stupid. I go Attachments > Add files > upload file. Submit and I can't see the file I uploaded.

There is no supported upgrade from 7 to 8. Back up your data and reinstall then restore it.
It's unclear if your errors are when you boot the DVD to install CentOS 8 or after the install is complete. Your first step in either case is to check the sha256sum of the iso image you downloaded against the list published in the CentOS 8 release notes. If you wrote it to a USB stick afterwards then please read our wiki page on supported utilities for doing that as quite a number are broken and do not work correctly.
It's quite likely that there is a filesize restriction on uploads to the forum and possibly restrictions on the types of files too.

The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
