Installing Radeon HD 4550 driver

Post by supmethods » 2022/07/23 23:35:27

I am trying to install AccuTerm using Crossover Linux. When I choose to install the software, it complains that OpenGL is not working. I've tested 3D acceleration and it works fine.

I have spoken to Crossover Linux support about this and they mentioned that the 32-bit graphics card driver will also need to be installed. When I do lspci -v, I get that the Radeon HD 4550 has been installed.

How do I install the 32-bit version of the driver?

Crossover linux does not seem to be a flavour of CentOS. This forum is for support of CentOS.
CentOS 8 died a premature death at the end of 2021 - migrate to Rocky/Alma/OEL/Springdale ASAP.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are dead, do not use them.

Crossover Linux is an Windows emulator that runs on CentOS. Basically, I need to install the 32-bit Radeon driver on CentOS for Crossover Linux to utilise 3D acceleration.

In other words "Crossover" is a 32-bit application?

Some libraries do have 32-bit component (in separate package) so that 32-bit programs can load and run. For example, NVidia's drivers had one. AMD ... I have no idea.
