software update not working libbpf conflick

Post by warrendodge » 2023/01/14 17:45:31

I tried doing an OS update and got the following messages. Not sure what to do with this. Last time I tried to fix something like this I ended up doing a total rebuild and would prefer to avoid that.

Linux wdcentos90 5.14.0-226.el9.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri Dec 23 16:16:30 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Re: software update not working libbpf conflick

I wouldn't do anything. That looks like a problem with the repo and not something you can do anything about other than wait for the maintainers to fix it. If you want to update then exclude those packages from the update using [tt[dnf update --exclude=pcp-pmda-bpf,perf,pcp-testsuite,pcp[/tt] (you may need to add excludes to the list to get there).
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
