Centos 9 Stream installer doesn't recognize hard drive
Centos 9 Stream installer doesn't recognize hard drive
Hello. I'm trying to install Centos 9 Stream on dell r710, but the installer doesn't see a hard drive (only USB). However, I can install centos 7 and ubuntu without any problems. Disk controller is raid 0. Any ideas what can be an issue?

Your SCSI is one of the adapters whose support has been removed in RHEL-8 (therefore CentOS-8). Please see the details in this ELRepo blog.
While on CentOS 7, run a command "lspci -nn" to find the device IDs [xxxx:yyyy] for the controller. Then we can identify the driver you need.

One "problem" is that ELRepo does not support Stream kernels. The driver is probably available from the CentOS kmods SIG.

Thank you for your quick response and clarification. I'm not good at hardware, that's why I have another question. If I upgrade the controller on my server, will it fix the problem? Thank you.
Re: Centos 9 Stream installer doesn't recognize hard drive
Can you elaborate? What do you mean by "upgrade the controller" ?

Furthermore, why Stream? ELRepo drivers work with RHEL and rebuilds of it.
