I'm using virt-p2v-make-disk and encountering some issues.
Firstly, virt-builder -l reports lists centosstream-9 as support distro - but when I try to use it I get "virt-p2v-make-disk: internal error: could not work out the Linux distro from 'centosstream-9'". Looks like virt-builder is fibbing and the support isn't there yet...
So instead I create the boot media using Fedora-32...
Secondly, the ISO once transferred to USB thumb drive is bootable in a modern laptop that supports UEFI/GPT, but when inserted into an older system - it won't boot as those older systems only support BIOS/MBR. Well, that's my theory at least...
I do have an older USB drive that does boot - but when I try to do the P2V process its say the version of the software is out of date which what is expected by CentOS9.
So it looks like i'm caught on the horns of catch-22 scenario (apologise for mixing my metaphors). It looks to me that the only thing I can do stick with my older thumb driver, uses CentOS8 to complete the process - and then upgrade the CentOS8 system to CentOS9....
What are peoples thoughts on this?
Best Wishes
Chelle
