Boots fine from the USB burnt from the DVD iso with Rufus.
But then it doesn't offer the USB stick as a source for the install, only ISO or network.
How do I install off the USB stick itself?

Never used rufus, so I wouldn't know if this is ok.

Rufus is known to be problematic if certain options are not chosen correctly. I'd use something else. See my sig below for the wiki articel about USB stick creation.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
