Mic not found : Razer BlackShark V2 X (3.5mm Jack)

Post by olivier7017 » 2022/01/26 18:05:42

Hi,
I just bought a Razer BlackShark V2 X headset and I cannot use the microphone or find it in my audio device. The speakers works fine. I'm using a Lenovo Y520 with dualboot on Win10 and Centos8. It works properly on Windows 10. I was using a Razer Kraken v7 before changing and the microphone worked fine.

I tried to install a few program which could have help, notably the software pavucontrol but nothing worked yet.

The BlackShark use a 3.5mm jack which may have something to do with the problem. On lenovo computer the microphone and speakers jack are combined into a single jack. My previous headset (Kraken) was a usb headset.

I'm not sure if this may help but I've attached the multimedia part of the command lshw.

Best, Olivier

EDIT : I didn't find solution. After more research, I think usb microphone may have the necessary driver included as firmware while you need to install the driver for jack microphone. I've bought an adaptor from jack to usb which comes with the necessary driver out of the box.

What do you get from arecord -L
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
Use the FAQ Luke
