Centos 8 SIG repositories - what will happen to them at Centos 8 EOL?

Post by darthbolek » 2021/09/17 15:27:38

What will happen to all Centos SIG? Are they going to stay (with/without updates for Centos/RHEL/Rocky 8)? What about new releases for software in that SIG repositories? Are they going to be Centos Stream only?

In my case I am interested in repository: CentOS-8 - NFV OpenvSwitch (added by package centos-release-nfv-openvswitch.noarch)
Rocky added this repository. I am trying to determine how stable or "rocky" the availability of this repository is going to be.

Currently this repository has openvswitch versions 2.11 and 2.13 (LTS)
2.13 EOL is February 2023
new LTS (2.17) will be available in August 2022

What are the chances the 2.17 will be available in this repository before 2.13 EOL (for Rocky 8)?
