can't boot into windows 10 after installing CentOS 8
Hi,
I had recently install CentOS 8 on my Hp notebook, I installed it using a bootable usb made with Rufus, I already had windows 10 running perfectly but decided I wanted CentOS too on my laptop. Now my laptop only boots directly to CentOS, it wouldn't boot the windows 10 anymore, I've tried all night to fix this issue, I've read multiple post on here but none seemed to address the issue. I safe boot turned off, os-prober comes back with no results, efibootmgr doesn't work either. I'm stuck and confused. Any and help to resolve this will be highly appreciated.

Boot CentOS and tell us whether /sys/firmware/efi exists.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

How did you repartition the disk, or what's the output from this (running as root):
fdisk -l
fdisk -l

Another thought -
If 'ntfs-3g' isn't installed then grub2-mkconfig won't recognize the Windows partition.

This has all the hallmarks of someone that's used Rufus to create a USB stick that has then stripped out all the UEFI information from the iso as it was copied. When booted from that, due to the lack of UEFI boot info on the newly created USB stick, it boots in Legacy BIOS mode, doesn't recognise the machine is actually in UEFI mode and installs in legacy BIOS mode and then it's not possible to boot the other UEFI aware o/s'es on the machine.

Very Correct, I used Rufus to create the USB stick, does this mean I have a corrupted version of the CentOS?TrevorH wrote: ↑2021/09/12 21:37:14This has all the hallmarks of someone that's used Rufus to create a USB stick that has then stripped out all the UEFI information from the iso as it was copied.
