Hi All,
I have installed CentOS 8 stream on our lab computers.
Before this we had CentOS 7.
The problem is that gnome-terminal is crashing with errors like
GTK+ module /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/modules/libpk-gtk-module.so cannot be loaded.
GTK+ 2.x symbols detected. Using GTK+ 2.x and GTK+ 3 in the same process is not supported.
This is not a problem when I create new users, it is only a problem for users that have been using CentOS 7
Also, if I delete the user's home dir and create a new one the problem is fixed.
It looks like there is some configuration that is not compatible with CentOS 8 but I don't know where it is in the user's home dir.

Don't know what your problem is, but you could
try to rename config files/directories one by one.
Maybe start with .cache and .config.

Re: gnome-terminal crash after moving from CentOS 7 to 8
you can´t upgrade Centos 7 to 8
even to keep the same /home there is no warranty that applications will have the same confs (most of times .something directories)
