hi,
We have been using spacewalk for different flavor of Linux and we are planning to move to CentOS stream, what would be an alternative to spacewalk : something similar and manageable like spacewalk
We want to manage repositories, configuration files etc
Thanks
Asher

Re: What is an alternative to spacewalk For Centos Stream 8
Have you taken a look at Foreman? It's the successor to Spacewalk that makes up the foundation of Red Hat Satellite.

To quote the page:
Repo management is covered by Katello, and Foreman (currently) uses Puppet for remote execution and config management, but also has support for Ansible, Salt, and Chef through their respective plugins. Though the hard requirement on Puppet will be removed in favor of Ansible by next year, but will likely still be available as an option for remote execution or moved to a plugin (not sure of the details around that, just that the removal is planned for Satellite 7).
Cheers,
Mike

I haven't been in an environment running RHEL or CentOS 6+ that doesn't use Satellite or Foreman+Katello for management.Red Hat Satellite is a distribution of Foreman and several plugins including Katello, Remote Execution, Discovery, Bootdisk, OpenSCAP for the enterprise.

Re: What is an alternative to spacewalk For Centos Stream 8
I am in the process of jumping ship. Reason: CentOS Streams. Indeed I'm not sure if CentOS will still exist after CentOS 8 ends, and the page book rolls over to RHEL 9.x If you are looking for a stream like rolling release OS I'd check out Manjaro Linux or Open SuSE "Tumbleweeds"asher.syed3 wrote: ↑2021/06/22 19:25:40hi,
