Issues with servers after CentOS 8.3 upgrade

Post by sarweshreddy » 2021/04/20 13:02:27

Hi,

I recently upgraded two of my CentOS 8.2 servers to CentOS 8.3 which are running on AWS. I have the kernel version 4.18.0-240.22.1.el8_3.x86_64 currently. Both the machines are behaving the same way. It allows me to login sometimes and sometimes it never asks me password and timeouts even in console.

After I login, I can work for 5-10 min and then it hangs. I can't even do anything in AWS serial console as well. I didn't see any errors during the upgrade.

I am wondering if I need to make any changes as part of upgrade to CentOS 8.3?

Other CentOS 8.2 machines are working fine on the same setup/platform.

Thank you
Sarwesh

Start by reading your logs.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
