SAR: Centos7 vs Centos8

Post by verbal_666 » 2021/04/10 10:07:16

Why SAR changes its output from C7 to C8?

CentOS7 - sysstat version 10.1.5
sar -u 1 5
...

Code: Select all

Average: all 0.00 0.00 0.10 0.00 0.00 99.90

CentOS8 - sysstat versione 11.7.3
sar -u 1 5
...

Code: Select all

Media: all 0,00 0,00 0,20 0,00 0,00 99,80
I have some scripts that got the "Average" ("Media" in new C8-Sar  ), and now i have to egrep "Avegare|Media" and not only "Average"... it's strange, to me... :geek:

Check your locale/LANG settings. CentOS 8's sar says Average: for me.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
